During a quarter-long competition, I collaborated with a multidisciplinary team as part of Central Coast Design to participate in a real estate development competition. Our project, the Nipomo Ranch housing community, aimed to address the pressing need for a diverse range of affordable and market-rate apartment rental units in Nipomo, California. Our proposal incorporated a strategic mix of residential and retail units, complemented by a variety of amenities, with the overarching goal of alleviating the housing shortage while cultivating a secure and inclusive living environment. To bring our vision to life, we engaged in the meticulous design of the development and conducted a series of comprehensive financial analyses to determine the most suitable project for the given site. Our team's dedication and innovative approach earned us a commendable third-place position in the competition.
